New anomaly maps show a decline in shipping activity in the Belgian part of the North Sea and the Western Scheldt in 'februari-april' 2020 vs 2019, at least partly related to the corona crisis.

The static maps were updated to match the upcoming new marine spatial plan, that comes into force from 2020 onwards.

58 infographics that highlight the state of fish stocks exploited in Belgian fishery have been receiving an overhaul based on newly released data for 2018 and 2019. 

In an effort to combat the rise of litter in the European marine environments, EMODnet Chemistry created several spatial data products on marine litter that combine data and measurements from over 100 partners and institutes. 

The team of EMODnet Human Activities has published a spatial data product that displays the density of maritime traffic in European waters. Additionally, the team has planned a live tutorial on Friday the 15th of March to further detail the use of this map.

On december 20th, EMODnet Biology proudly presented a new and innovative spatial product, that provides a platform for important marine and biological dataproducts. 

Op vrijdag 7 december wordt in de Grote Post te Oostende de allernieuwste editie van het Compendium voor Kust en Zee voorgesteld. Hierbij wordt ook deze website gelanceerd. Lees hier alles over het event.

Op de vooravond van de Raad van Europese visserijministers hebben ILVO en VLIZ een reeks samenvattende infografieken gepubliceerd, die van belang zijn voor de Belgische vissersvloot. Zo worden er in één oogopslag en per soort 3 belangrijke indicatoren gevisualiseerd.

In Brugge werd op 5 december het Nemo Link-project ingehuldigd. Dit is de eerste hoogspanningsverbinding ooit die het Belgische elektriciteitsnetwerk verbindt met dat van het Verenigd Koninkrijk.
